Steven Brinkworth
THERAPIST, MSW, LCSW

Before Steven Brinkworth became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, he dedicated his inner and natural gift of compassion, to a very successful educational career. Receiving his Bachelors of Art from Guilford College and two masters from University of Oklahoma; Masters of Human Relations and Masters of Social Work, you could say he knows a thing or two about leading people to a healthier and happier lifestyle.

As an inpatient and outpatient therapist, case manager, and group facilitator Steven led successful therapeutic and support groups focused on depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, communication, codependency, seeking safety, and grief. He is experienced with clients of all ages from children through geriatrics struggling with impacts from depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, substance abuse, anger, dementia, and caregiver fatigue.

It’s no coincidence that Steven, not only uses his impressive accolades, but he embodies the Scout Law of strong character from his days as an Eagle Scout, to understand someone’s situation with a sense of passion, purpose, and dedication to better assist individuals in finding their journey of healing and wellness. When Steven came to Green Shoe in 2017, there was no question that he would be a perfect fit.

From his days as a drum major in high school to his “weir everywhere” sense of personality, Steven is the perfect combination of calm and cool. When he’s not leading therapy groups or advocating for mental health and self-care, you can find him on disc golf fairways around central Oklahoma, jamming out to his stellar Spotify playlist, or cooking his way through his Pinterest board.

“I love the deep and sacred change that occurs as people release the bonds that have restricted joy and self love! I’m grateful for Green Shoe and love working with an authentic team. The work done at Green Shoe not only changes individuals‘ lives, but also those in relationship with them. Thus the work done at Green Shoe sends healing ripples through the relationships within our community.”
